As an online teacher, most of your students will be between 3-16 years old. Your students will come from a range of backgrounds and locations and are looking to learn in a fun and engaging environment.

Your students will vary in language ability and personality. Using English 1's unique online platform will allow you to connect with your students virtually and experience being at the forefront of online language learning.

Job responsibilities

You’ll have the opportunity to develop your career while working out of Shanghai’s online center, a dynamic multicultural environment full of people from around the world. We’ll even provide you with a development plan to help you master the technology and get to grips with online teaching.

  • Teaching English in China to students ages 3-16

  • Class sizes can vary, from as few as 1 student in a private lesson to 8 in a group

  • Planning & delivering lessons via English 1's online platform

  • Using online presentations, cameras, microphones, and Adobe tools to help your students practice real-world English

  • Preparing for each class and giving live feedback

  • Providing post-lesson feedback to further assist your students

Requirements

Don’t have any teaching experience? You don’t need any. We warmly welcome first-time teachers, alongside our many experienced educators, and provide all the training and resources needed to support you every step of the way and help you start strong. You will, however, need the following for the Chinese Government to issue you a teaching work visa. Don’t have these documents at hand? You can apply and provide them later.

A bachelor’s degree
